Dubai’s RTA: New Bridges Saving You Time on the Roads

If you’ve been driving on Dubai’s busy streets like Hessa Street, Al Khail Road, or Sheikh Rashid Road, you might have noticed smoother traffic and faster travel times. That’s thanks to the new bridges built by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). These projects aim to reduce congestion and save time for drivers across the city. Here’s how they’re making a difference:

Dubai’s RTA

Hessa Street to Al Khail Road Bridge

A 1-km bridge connecting Hessa Street to Al Khail Road opened on December 22. This bridge cuts travel time from 15 minutes to just 3 minutes. Part of a larger Hessa Street project, the development includes upgrades to four intersections and is expected to finish by late 2025.

Sheikh Rashid Road to Infinity Bridge

A new three-lane bridge links Sheikh Rashid Road to Infinity Bridge. Opened in December, it’s part of the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project. This bridge eases congestion between Bur Dubai and areas like Al Mina Road and Mamzar.

Garn Al Sabkha Street Bridges

Two new bridges at Garn Al Sabkha Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road have reduced travel time significantly. Drivers can now reach Al Yalayis Street and Jebel Ali Port 70% faster, with peak hour travel dropping from 21 minutes to just 7 minutes.

Al Khail Road Upgrades

Two major bridges on Al Khail Road now connect Zaa’beel and Al Quoz 1. These upgrades have cut travel time by 30% across key sites, including Business Bay and Jumeirah Village Circle.

Trade Centre Roundabout Transformation

The iconic Trade Centre Roundabout is being upgraded with five new bridges. These improvements will reduce delays from 12 minutes to just 90 seconds and make travel around Sheikh Zayed Road much smoother.

Thanks to Dubai’s RTA, navigating the city has never been quicker!
