New Support for Mothers

Sharjah Ruler approves ‘Care Leave’ to support working mothers. This new leave applies when a woman gives birth to a sick child or one with special needs. It gives her more time to care for her baby without stress from work.

Extra Leave for Mothers

The care leave is added to the regular maternity leave. Mothers will get 30 more days off with full pay after their maternity leave ends. If needed, they can also take another 30 days without pay. A doctor must confirm that the baby needs extra care.

Matches Federal Law

Sharjah’s new care leave follows the UAE Federal Law No. 33 of 2021. This law already supports private sector moms. Now, public sector moms in Sharjah will get the same help.
