New Adventure Park to Open Soon in Khor Fakkan
The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is developing a new adventure park in Khor Fakkan. The park will offer a zipline, adrenaline swings, and hiking trails. According to Shurooq’s CEO, Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, the park will enhance the region’s popularity for outdoor activities. “We aim to deliver this exciting project by the end of the year,” he added.
New Adventure Park Adds to Shurooq’s Growing Tourism Portfolio
Shurooq’s portfolio spans hospitality, tourism, art, culture, and real estate sectors. The authority has developed several successful projects, including Moon Retreat, Al Badayer Retreat, and Mleiha National Park. Al Qaseer shared that Shurooq currently operates five hotels and plans to open three more soon. The focus remains on high-quality experiences, not the number of rooms.
Shurooq’s Future Hospitality Projects Include Unique Hotels
Shurooq is also planning to open two more hotels in unique locations. One hotel will be connected to Sharjah Safari, the world’s largest safari outside Africa. Another hotel, located in Khor Fakkan, will offer stunning mountain views. Al Qaseer emphasized that Shurooq is in the business of providing experiences, not just rooms.
Mleiha: A Prominent Tourist and Cultural Destination
Additionally, Shurooq aims to boost tourism in Mleiha by promoting its archaeological significance. Mleiha National Park spans 34 square kilometers, showcasing history from the Neolithic to the Iron Age. The park’s museum offers visitors insights into ancient findings, while sunset lounges and other activities enrich the experience. Mleiha has also become a growing destination for food and beverage offerings, attracting cafes, shops, and restaurants.
Shurooq’s plans for tourism development extend beyond adventure parks. The authority aims to offer unique and sustainable experiences that draw more visitors to Sharjah. Each project reflects its vision for creating a well-rounded destination. Through these diverse initiatives, Shurooq is enhancing Sharjah’s appeal on the global tourism map.
