LuLu to Expand Across UAE, Creating Thousands of Jobs

UAE-based LuLu Retail Group plans to expand into the outskirts of major cities as the population moves away from crowded downtown areas. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand in less urbanized regions, with new outlets set to create hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs across the retail sector in the UAE.

LuLu’s Expansion Plans in Dubai and Northern Emirates

LuLu’s founder, Yusuffali MA, revealed plans for 15 new projects in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. As the population shifts from central cities to outlying areas, LuLu is exploring these regions for new retail opportunities. Whether LuLu opens a hypermarket or express store will depend on the population density of each area.

LuLu’s Growth Opportunities in the UAE’s Outskirts

With an influx of foreign workers and the rising cost of downtown living, many residents are moving to the outskirts. LuLu sees this trend as an opportunity to provide convenient shopping options in underserved areas. This move will not only increase LuLu’s presence but also offer locals affordable shopping experiences.

LuLu’s CEO Discusses New Projects and Developer Partnerships

Saifee Rupawala, CEO of LuLu Retail, discussed ongoing talks with developers about expanding LuLu’s footprint in the UAE. These projects are still under review, but LuLu is eager to partner with key developers to make these new stores a reality. LuLu’s partnerships are expected to foster substantial retail growth across the country.

LuLu’s Saudi Arabia Expansion: 37 New Stores Coming Soon

Rupawala also highlighted LuLu’s plans to expand in Saudi Arabia. The company aims to open 37 new stores across tier 1 and tier 2 cities. By 2028, LuLu plans to operate 100 stores in Saudi Arabia, strengthening its presence and tapping into an expanding market.

LuLu’s Job Creation in the GCC Region

LuLu’s expansion will create numerous job opportunities across the GCC. Each store, depending on its size, requires a varying number of employees. A hypermarket employs about 290 staff, while express stores hire around 55 people.

LuLu’s Commitment to Employing Thousands Across New Retail Outlets

As of June 2024, LuLu employs around 55,000 full-time workers. The company is excited about the future, with many new stores set to open soon across key areas. LuLu remains committed to supporting local communities with job opportunities and growth.
