Dubai’s new AI-powered speed cameras detect a variety of traffic violations. These include speeding, illegal U-turns, and failure to wear seatbelts. Dubai Police has outlined the fines, black points, and vehicle impoundment durations for these offenses.
Dubai’s New Speed Cameras: Speeding Violations
Exceeding the maximum speed limit by more than 80 km/h results in a Dhs3,000 fine. A 60-day vehicle impoundment and 23 black points accompany this violation. Exceeding the speed by 60 km/h incurs a Dhs2,000 fine, 20-day vehicle impoundment, and 12 black points.
Other speeding violations include a Dhs1,000 fine for exceeding the limit by 50 km/h. Exceeding the speed limit by 40 km/h results in a Dhs700 fine, while 30 km/h over the limit results in Dhs600. Exceeding 20 km/h incurs a fine of Dhs300.

Running a red light incurs a fine of Dhs1,000, 12 black points, and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. Failing to stay in the mandatory lane results in a Dhs400 fine. Heavy vehicles that violate lane regulations face a Dhs1,500 fine and 12 black points.

Driving against the traffic flow leads to a Dhs600 fine, 7-day vehicle impoundment, and 4 black points. Using the shoulder of the road results in a Dhs1,000 fine, a 30-day vehicle impoundment, and 6 black points.
Seatbelt and Mobile Use Violations
Not wearing a seatbelt results in a Dhs400 fine and 4 black points. Using a mobile phone while driving increases the fine to Dhs800, with 4 black points.
Other Traffic Offenses
Failing to maintain a safe distance results in a Dhs400 fine and 4 black points. Driving a noisy vehicle results in a Dhs2,000 fine and 12 black points.Other offenses include turning into non-designated areas, which incurs a Dhs500 fine and 4 black points.
