Abu Dhabi has unveiled a bold strategy to create the world’s first fully AI-based government by 2027. The government plans to allocate Dh13 billion to this initiative, which will revolutionize operations, automate processes, and fully adopt cloud computing. The Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE), in collaboration with local government entities, will oversee the implementation of this vision.
This strategy aims to transform public services and government operations, creating a seamless experience for citizens. Over 200 innovative AI solutions will enhance services while a unified digital enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform will streamline workflows, boosting productivity and efficiency.
Moreover, the strategy will generate over 5,000 new job opportunities, supporting Emiratisation efforts and empowering local talent. This initiative will also contribute more than Dh24 billion to Abu Dhabi’s GDP, driving sustainable economic growth.
The government’s AI-based approach emphasizes using advanced technologies like AI, cloud computing, and data-driven insights. These tools will help optimize operations, improve decision-making, and deliver top-notch public services. Ahmed Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of DGE, highlighted how A I will become central to government processes and economic development.
Training citizens in AI applications is another key aspect of this initiative. Through the ‘AI for All’ program, Abu Dhabi will invest in empowering its people with cutting-edge skills. The program aims to ensure that the benefits of AI are accessible to all.
To maintain security, the government will implement robust digital guidelines and cybersecurity measures. These steps will safeguard data and build trust in the digital transformation.
Abu Dhabi’s ambitious strategy reflects its commitment to innovation and becoming a global leader in AI-based governance. With this initiative, the emirate is setting a new benchmark for smart government services.
