New Rules for Dubai Delivery Bike Lanes Start on November 1
Starting November 1, 2025, new rules will change how delivery riders use roads in Dubai. The RTA and Dubai Police have announced strict limits for delivery bikes on high-speed roads. The goal is to reduce accidents and keep all road users safe.
What the New Rules Mean
Under the new rule, delivery bikes cannot use the leftmost lanes on busy roads.
- On five-lane or more roads, bikes cannot use the two left lanes.
- On three- or four-lane roads, they cannot use the leftmost lane.
- On roads with two lanes or fewer, there are no lane limits.
These new rules for Dubai delivery bike lanes aim to keep riders in slower and safer lanes. This move comes after a rise in motorcycle accidents over the past year.
Why the Change Is Important
The delivery business in Dubai is growing fast. More people now order food and goods online. Because of this, there are many more delivery bikes on main roads. Unfortunately, many accidents have happened in fast lanes. These lanes are meant for cars traveling at high speed, which puts riders at higher risk.
The new Dubai delivery bike lanes rule helps reduce these risks. By keeping riders in safer lanes, it lowers the chances of serious crashes.
What Authorities Are Saying
Hussain Al Banna from RTA said the rule helps protect delivery riders and drivers. He also mentioned that Dubai values both road safety and the delivery industry.

Major General Saif Al Mazrouei from Dubai Police said the rule is part of Dubai’s larger traffic safety plan. He shared that delivery bike accidents have increased each year. These new limits should bring the numbers down.
Fines and Penalties
Drivers who break the rule will get fines. The fine starts at AED 500 for the first time. It rises to AED 700 for a second offence. A third offence means losing the delivery permit.
There are also fines for speeding. Riders who go over 100 km/h will face penalties between AED 200 and AED 400, depending on the offence.
Awareness and Future Plans
The RTA and Dubai Police will put up new Dubai delivery bike lanes signs on roads. They will also launch an awareness campaign. The goal is to teach riders and companies about the new rule.
By following the new Dubai delivery bike lanes system, riders can stay safe and avoid fines. The rule also helps Dubai build safer and smoother roads for everyone.
