Expo Opens in Hangzhou

The Global Digital Trade Expo opened today in Hangzhou, China. This is the fourth edition of the event since its start in 2022. It is also the biggest one yet, covering 155,000 square metres. The expo runs until 29th September at the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Centre.

UAE as Guest of Honour

This year, the UAE is Guest of Honour, together with Indonesia. The title highlights the UAE’s growing role in the global digital economy. The UAE’s presence at the event reflects its leadership in digital growth, innovation, and technology partnerships.

UAE Pavilion Showcases Innovation

The UAE national pavilion will display projects in digital economy, FinTech, artificial intelligence, and smart government solutions. These areas show how the UAE is investing in new technologies. The country also wants to share its success in digital transformation with international partners.

Global Participation and Business Links

Over 1,700 companies from around the world are attending. Around 360 exhibitors are international, and 70 Fortune Global 500 firms are also present. Organisers expect 40,000 professional visitors, with 10,000 from abroad. The event will host over 30 matchmaking sessions to help investors and governments connect.

Strong UAE-China Partnership

The UAE as Guest of Honour also reflects its close ties with China. Bilateral trade has already reached USD 90 billion. Both countries aim to double that figure by 2030. Their cooperation covers not only trade but also tourism, culture, education, and technology.

Driving Future Growth

By joining as Guest of Honour, the UAE hopes to expand its global influence. The country plans to build new partnerships across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. The UAE’s active role in the expo strengthens its position as a leading hub for digital business and smart solutions.
