Why Emirates Stopped the Flights

In 2012, the airline had to stop flights because of the conflict in Syria. The Damascus airport was not safe, and many airlines left the country. But things started to change in late 2024 when the Assad government fell. Since then, the new government has reopened the airport and fixed key areas.

Other Airlines Also Return

Emirates is not the only airline going back to Syria. Qatar Airways restarted flights to Damascus in January 2025. They fly three times a week from Doha. Royal Jordanian also joined, offering flights from Amman later that month. This shows that the region is becoming stable again.

New Flights Will Help Syrians Abroad

Many Syrians who live outside the country have not visited home for years. Emirates Flights to Damascus will now make it easier for them to reconnect with family. It also opens the door for more trade and tourism.

Details About the Flights

Emirates will use its Boeing 777 aircraft for this route. Passengers can book economy or business class. Tickets will be available starting June 10, 2025. The airline will share more flight details soon.
