Saudi Arabia Reserves 41 Tourism Jobs for Nationals Under Saudisation Plan
Boosting Local Employment in Tourism
Saudi Arabia is taking a big step to provide more jobs for its citizens. The government recently announced that 41 jobs in the tourism sector will now be reserved only for Saudi nationals. This is part of a wider effort called Saudisation, which aims to reduce the country’s reliance on foreign workers.
What Is Saudisation?
Saudisation is a national policy that helps Saudi citizens find work across various industries. Over the past few years, the government has applied Saudisation in sectors like education, telecommunications, and real estate. Now, it’s focusing on tourism, a fast-growing part of the economy.
Jobs Reserved for Saudis
Starting in June 2025, only Saudi nationals can work in 41 specific tourism-related roles. These include jobs like hotel receptionists, travel agents, tour guides, event coordinators, and customer service staff. The plan will roll out in phases to help businesses adjust.

Support for Businesses and Workers
To help with this change, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is working with the Ministry of Tourism. They are offering training and support programs for Saudi job seekers. Businesses can also join these programs to get ready for the new rules.
Clear Timeline and Rules
The government has set clear deadlines for when companies must follow the Saudisation rules. Employers who don’t comply will face fines and regular inspections. This helps ensure that the policy is taken seriously and implemented fairly.
Why This Matters
Tourism is a key part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan to grow the economy beyond oil. By applying Saudisation to tourism, the country aims to create quality jobs for locals and improve services for tourists.
Looking Ahead
As the tourism industry expands, Saudi citizens will play a bigger role in welcoming visitors. The Saudisation plan not only supports the economy but also strengthens national identity in the tourism experience.
