Kempegowda Airport Wins ‘Best Airport for Arrivals’ Award in 2024
Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has been named the Best Airport for Arrivals in 2024 by the Airports Council International (ACI). This marks the third consecutive year the airport has received this prestigious award.
What Makes KIA the Best Airport for Arrivals?
ACI’s Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards are based on direct passenger feedback. These awards evaluate airports on factors like convenience, cleanliness, service quality, and overall comfort. Passengers at KIA praise the airport for fast immigration and customs clearance, quick baggage delivery, and high-speed Wi-Fi. These features make arrivals smoother and stress-free.
A Blend of Efficiency and Beauty
KIA isn’t just efficient—it’s also visually stunning. Terminal 2 (T2), known as the “Terminal in a Garden,” received international recognition for its unique design. In 2023, it won the “Special Prize for an Interior” from the Prix Versailles awards in Paris. The terminal blends modern architecture with natural greenery, reflecting Bengaluru’s identity as the Garden City of India.

A Commitment to Excellence
Hari Marar, Managing Director & CEO of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), expressed gratitude for the award. He emphasized that the team works hard to ensure a world-class experience for passengers. He also noted that the airport focuses on efficiency, safety, and convenience.
A Sustainable and Innovative Airport
KIA stands out not only for passenger experience but also for sustainability. It is Karnataka’s first fully solar-powered airport and India’s third busiest after Delhi and Mumbai. The airport also introduced India’s first all-women firefighting squad and built a 50 km road using recycled plastic waste.
Setting a Benchmark in Global Aviation
Winning the Best Airport for Arrivals title again reinforces KIA’s global reputation. The airport continues to set high standards in efficiency, innovation, and passenger satisfaction. With its modern facilities and passenger-first approach, it remains a role model for airports worldwide.
